Wild West comes to Cygnet Delfryn Lodge
They made lots of props and decorations during arts and crafts sessions, such as wanted posters, pin the tail on the cow and signs for the garden. On the day they all helped decorate the garden and they were a huge help.
Everyone dressed for the event in cowboy outfits with inflatable donkey, before they had a lovely BBQ lunch from the kitchen team. There was also a saloon bar complete with Wild West mocktails, which was run by a service user who did a fantastic job keeping everyone hydrated in the sun. They also had a hoedown disco with DJ Daff playing some country classics.
Attendees also enjoyed plastic axe throwing, a tin shooting game and a photo booth complete with straw bales to add to the theme, plus much more fun and surprises including some cowboy boots goody bags for all the service users.
Activity Coordinator Lisa Kettle made everyone a personalised cup set with their names on and a cowboy picture. Everyone got involved and it was a brilliant day, the sun topped it off. At the end of the festival we had a visit from a local doughnut van (Doughnutology) who came treated everyone with doughnuts and milkshakes.
Our service was joined by our pet therapy dog Hari and owner Helen, Hari dressed up in a cowboy hat and neckerchief.
Activity Coordinator Joe Morgan said: “What a fantastic day! Thank you to everyone for helping organise this.”
