New Creative Space opens for staff and service users at Cygnet Oaks
A bright new space has officially opened at Cygnet Oaks for people to express themselves! This project was coproduced by staff and Chris, a service user, working as a team to turn an ordinary room into an exciting hub for art, music, and creativity.
From the very start, staff and Chris worked side-by-side, ensuring the new space fits the talents and needs of everyone who uses it.
Together they collaborated to bring ideas to life, choosing creative mediums to decorate the space and helping to paint the walls with various artworks. Chris described his ‘love for music’ as a motivator behind his participation, having ‘enjoyed every aspect of the project’ and creating a space where he can ‘express himself’.
A sense of pride and ownership is felt over the new space, with this area becoming a lasting place where people can relax, connect, and discover new hobbies for years to come.
