Kirkside Lodge Resident Raises £261 for Charity

An individual supported at Kirkside Lodge in Leeds recently organised a successful bake sale and coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, raising an impressive £261 for the charity.

Inspired by the support Macmillan provides to people affected by cancer and their families, the resident put his baking skills to good use, creating a delicious selection of brownies, cupcakes, cookies and sausage rolls through Kirkside’s Bakery Project.

The event also featured a tombola with prizes donated by staff and welcomed residents and colleagues from several neighbouring Cygnet Social Care services, including Kirkside House, Oxley Woodhouse, Outwood, Thornfield House and Grange, and Supported Living in Huddersfield. This created a fantastic atmosphere of friendship, generosity and community spirit.

“We are very proud of our resident’s generosity and determination to create all the baked goods,” explained Stacey Monsarrat, Bakery Assistant at the Cygnet Social Care service.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved, especially the resident whose hard work, dedication and kindness helped make the day such a success while supporting an important cause.

Stacey continued: “Charity fundraising is important for our residents at Kirkside Lodge as it helps bring communities together, supports the understanding of different good causes and spreads awareness.”
