Cygnet Lodge Salford’s Country & Western Summer Festival
The event was planned, organised and facilitated by the Occupational Therapy (OT) team, with service users and staff all coming together to make the day such a success. There was something for everyone, with live musical performances from the OT team. Games included tombola, a giant inflatable slide, and plenty of delicious Country & Western inspired food, including hot dogs and lots of sweet treats. They were also delighted to be supported by local organisations, including Simply Shetlands, who brought their Shetland ponies along to provide pet therapy.
Donna Ironmonger, Head of Occupational Therapy at Cygnet Lodge Salford, said: “The patients absolutely loved spending time with the ponies, and it was wonderful to see the positive impact and enjoyment this brought to the day. A special thank you also goes to one of our very own support workers, who stepped behind the camera as our professional photographer for the day, capturing some fantastic memories for everyone to enjoy. It was a brilliant day of connection, participation, fun and meaningful activity, with patients and staff creating memories together.”
A huge well done to everyone involved in making the Cygnet Lodge Salford Summer Festival such a memorable occasion!
