Cygnet Hospital Colchester celebrate South Asian Heritage Month
On a bright sunny on Friday 16th August 2024, Cygnet Hospital Colchester concluded the activities of the South Asian Heritage Month 2024 with a festive celebration within its premises that was amply attended by staff and service users.
There was a rich assortment of South Asian cuisine on offer and attendees paraded in a cornucopia of south Asian traditional dress. South Asian music played in the background and there was a display of garlands, images of South Asian countries’ flora and fauna, as well as cultural and geographical facts about the region.
Lynn McGhee, Hospital Manager, said: “It was a great day. One of the highlights was some of our South Asian women performing a traditional dance for us all to enjoy. Thank you to everyone who helped make the event a success today, and for your contributions. I think both patients and staff who attended had a lovely time, and really did get a little flavour of your roots.”
