For six years, Jasmin was hearing voices every day in her head and thought she’d never be able to look forward to a happy, healthy future. Today, on World Mental Health Day, she is finally being discharged from hospital back into community living.
The occupational therapy team at Cygnet Hospital Colchester recently helped to arrange a sports day for service users and staff. There was a wide variety of activities for everyone to take part in, including a ball and spoon race, the three-legged race, long jump and shot put.
After years of battling an eating disorder, former service user Emily Hale is now working for Cygnet Health Care to help others also struggling with their mental health and to ensure their voices are heard.
