    A team of social care staff who opted to self-isolate with their residents during a Covid outbreak have been recognised for their selfless commitment to keeping people safe. A team of five from The Squirrels, our specialist autism residential service in Southampton, chose to self-isolate at the service so they could continue to support their residents.

    This year, for the first time ever, the Phoenix School of Therapeutic Education at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield, held an end of year prom to celebrate all of the hard work that their students have put into their academic endeavors over the past school year.
 
        
    
    A new acute mental health service for men has opened at Cygnet Lodge Woking in Surrey. George Willard Ward is a new 11-bed male mental health acute service and is named in memory of two local health care workers.
 
        
    
    In May, Cygnet Churchill launched a new therapeutic group for service users as part of Mental Health Awareness Week 2021. The ‘Art in the Park’ group is a collaboration between the Occupational Therapy and Psychology department which aims to empower service users to develop resilience and self-management skills using resources found in nature.
 
        
    
    The service users and staff team at Cygnet St Teilo House in Rhymney celebrated the end of Pride Month in style with their very own “Teilo Fest”. Entertainment was provided by a DJ, a busker as well as an interactive circus skills workshop.

    As part of an ongoing partnership we are pleased to support Taunton Town Football Club’s new Community Engagement Project. The football club has designed and will deliver a structured programme of engagement which will provide members of the local community with the opportunity to participate in a broad range of free sporting and non-sporting activities.

    To celebrate the hard work of the students at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield’s Phoenix School, the school plans to celebrate with its first ever Prom this year. Following a plea for formalwear donations the School has been able to open a Prom Shop with a huge selection of new or barely worn formal dresses, suits, and shoes.
 
        
    
    In April we launched the 2022 Cygnet Health Care Calendar Competition and asked our service users and residents from across the country to submit their paintings, drawings, photographs and arts & crafts projects to be featured.
