She has worked in a Psychological setting since 2008 and has extensive experience of working with adults with a range of different needs including complex personality disorder, mental health issues, autism and learning disabilities. Caroline has attended training in a range of psychological assessments and approaches in therapy (including CBT, EMDR, CAT and Schema Therapy).
Caroline has a keen interest in supporting individuals and services to work in a trauma informed way, and has a level-II certification in working with complex trauma. This encompasses offering trauma therapies to the individuals within the service, as well as reviewing and implementing systems to ensure they are in line with principles of trauma informed care.
Caroline has completed service audits related to trauma informed care and developed local policies or guidance to improve service provision, which have then been replicated to improve other services. Caroline presented on the Association of Clinical Psychologists: Team Formulation guidelines (launched 2022) and recently attended a Parliamentary discussion surrounding developing trauma informed and responsive services in the North.
