Tafara held a number of roles before joining Cygnet as a nurse, starting with Tinto Industries as a trailer lights fitter and Accounts Clerk. He then worked as a supervisor and forklift driver with Cool fresh, a Chef with KFC and a driver with Dominos before doing his nursing training at Edgehill University. While studying he continued to do some healthcare support work. He then worked at Partnerships In Care where he completed his preceptorship before joining Care Aspiration as a senior staff nurse.

Tafara joined Cygnet as a staff nurse in 2014 and he worked his way up from staff nurse, senior staff nurse, deputy manager and he is now the registered manager for Old Leigh house. Tafara has acquired many nursing skills as he worked his way to become a registered manager and continues to grow in this role. He is also the safeguarding lead for Old Leigh House.

Farai joined Cygnet in June 2022 as a support worker waiting to get RMN PIN which came October 2022 whilst working at Cygnet Churchill. He then joined Old Leigh House as bank nurse in March 2023. He became a Deputy Manager for Old Leigh House in May 2023. Prior to working in the UK, Farai worked as an international nurse for more than 15 years in Zimbabwe and Namibia. Farai acts as a staff advocate ensuring their concerns are addressed. Farai supports staff with challenges they may face executing their day to day roles. He helps to ensure staff are embracing team work and he also ensures Old Leigh House meets or exceeds the expected standards and support, expected.
