Meet the Team

Ashleigh Yilmaz - Service Manager

Ashleigh completed an Adult Nursing degree in 2014 and worked as a specialist trauma & ITU nurse. Following this, she has worked across various settings including Older Adult Care, Acute Mental Health & Learning Disabilities. Ashleigh took some time from nursing to work abroad and teach English at an international language campus, gaining knowledge in languages, culture and diversity.

Upon return, Ashleigh joined Oaklands in 2022 as a registered nurse before moving into the management team. Ashleigh now works as the service manager at Oaklands, and has a passion for improving the quality of nursing & support in the social care sector.

Charlotte Watson - Deputy Manager

Charlotte qualified as a learning disability nurse in 2003. She spent the first 11 years of her career in an acute hospital setting, working with individuals with Learning Disabilities who presented with non-verbal communication, mental health issues, behaviours which challenged service provision and physical health conditions.

Charlotte then spent 10 years working for the DWP. She held a number of positions with the DWP, starting as a disability analyst, moving onto mentoring and auditing and then onto a number of quality assurance roles.

She returned to a direct nursing role at Oaklands in 2022 whilst undertaking a MSC in health promotion and Public Health. She moved into the clinical deputy managers role in November 2023.

Dr Tony Perini - Consultant Neuropsychiatrist MB.BS.MSc.(Epilepsy) FRCPsych.

After qualifying as a doctor at Newcastle University, Tony worked in general hospital medicine before training in Psychiatry, in Edinburgh and Fife, followed by research fellowships/hon lecturerships at the MRC Brain Metabolism Unit and Edinburgh University.

Tony has been a consultant psychiatrist since 1990 and has worked in Forensic, Hospital and Community Psychiatry (Learning Disabilities) as well as medical management as a Clinical Director, then as a Trust Medical Director in the NHS and Caldicott Guardian in the NHS and Independent sector. He has worked as a clinician in the independent sector in hospital and residential services since 2005.

Professionally Tony is interested in all aspects of neuroscience, neuropsychiatry and the psychiatry of intellectual disabilities. He has been a second opinion appointed doctor (SOAD) with the CQC for about 20 years.

In his spare time Tony enjoys photography, walking, cycling, music of all types and motorcycling (lapsed), travel and time with the family. More recently in lockdown, he has also taken up restoring old typewriters!
