Meet the Team

Penny Robinson - Service Manager

Penny has worked for Cygnet for over ten years following completion of a psychology degree at De Montfort University. Having initially started as a support worker, Penny has worked her way up through a number of roles including activity co-ordinator and deputy manager and now service manager.

Penny has mainly worked in residential settings supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism. Since joining Cygnet she has completed many courses to develop her knowledge and skill set which include NVQ and Healthcare Assistant Practitioner level 5. Penny believes in a person centred approach and aims to ensure that the individuals we care for have the best quality of life.

Aimee Ratcliffe – Deputy Manager

Aimee has worked for Cygnet for over 5 years. Aimee started her career with Cygnet as a Support Worker in a residential setting before being promoted to Senior Support Worker. After completing a secondment, she was successful at securing a position as Deputy Manager.

Aimee is working towards her level 4 in management and is the reducing restrictive practice lead. She is very passionate in encouraging the least restrictive care and thrives on seeing individuals we support to achieve their goals and passions in life.

Aimee has a vast amount of experience in learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviours.

Georgia Blurton – Activities Co-ordinator

Georgia joined Cygnet in June 2023 and is the Activities Coordinator for both Conifers and Marion House. She has a background in mental health, with a degree in Criminology and Forensic Mental Health at Nottingham Trent University.

Georgia is excited to grow at Cygnet, soon to be working towards completing an NVQ in Leadership and Management.

Since being at Cygnet, Georgia has engaged in many company competitions, including the garden competition and renovation of both homes’ sensory rooms for the interior design competition.

Joseph Milner - Administrator

Joe joined Cygnet in September 2023 and is the Administrator for Conifers and Marion House. Joe has a vast amount of experience working in various admin roles. These roles included creating training programs and working in private healthcare in London. He has also previously worked at Derby County FC at Derby County where his former bosses included Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney, two of Joe’s footballing idols as a teenager.

Joe’s role includes responding to emails, answering calls, meeting compliance reports and aiding staff with any requests. Outside of work Joe is a bit of a history buff and has a degree in History and Politics. He is currently studying for a Ma in History.
