Meet the Team

Tony Stewart - Service Manager

Tony qualified firstly in 1982 at Perth College of Nursing and Midwifery and has practiced in General and Psychiatric settings gaining a vast amount of knowledge along the way. He was selected as the Nurse of the Year whilst practicing at Murray Royal in Perth.

Tony’s first experience of learning disability services was in 2014 where he took up a post at ASC Balhousie where it very quickly became apparent to him that this is where he is meant to practice. Tony was quickly promoted to Senior Nurse and was then further promoted to manage a community setting, a cohort of five Bungalows taking care and supporting individuals with learning disabilities.

During his time at ASC Balhousie he trained as a Tutor in Improving Practice (NESS) this was invaluable and a natural teaching device to use whilst practicing in the support of individuals with learning disabilities and autism.

Tony’s focus in his current role as Service Manager Ellen Mhor is to provide the best positive support and forward thinking for the individuals in his care.

Lori Sutherland - Deputy Manager

Lori began her career at Ellen Mhor in 2011 where she started off as a support worker. Throughout the years, Lori gained SVQ qualifications which allowed promotions to become a senior support worker and then on to team leader. Lori was later promoted to become deputy manager of Ellen Mhor in 2019, where she remained in the position for just over 1 year.

In 2021, Lori then chose to venture into a different part of the care sector - working with children and young people living in residential care - however chose to remain working in Ellen Mhor as a bank support worker. Although Lori enjoyed her time working with children and young people, she decided that her heart lay with Ellen Mhor and soon returned as deputy manager in 2022.

Since her return to Ellen Mhor, Lori is now a qualified Positive Behaviour Support coach and aims to support Ellen Mhor – and any other services – to implement and understand the purpose and benefits of Positive Behaviour Support. Lori has a high passion for providing the best possible care for all individuals and aims to ensure they have a high quality of life.

Peter Morrice – Senior Staff Nurse

Peter has been a learning disabilities nurse since 1995 and studied in Bradford, West Yorkshire. After qualifying, Peter worked in challenging behaviour services and group homes in the Bradford area before returning home to Scotland around 2014.

Peter has now worked in Ellen Mhor since 2016 and thoroughly enjoys his job. Peter loves being able to make a positive impact on the lives of the people we support and is also a great support to his peers. Peter is a proud dad to his son and daughter and enjoys spending time with them on his days off. Peter also enjoys spending time watching his beloved Hearts of Midlothian FC and will often travel through to Edinburgh to see them.
