Stephen Smith – Hospital Manager

Stephen qualified as a psychiatric nurse in September 1999. Since then he has worked in forensic mental health hospitals supporting vulnerable people with mental health conditions. He also has experience in community forensic settings working with individuals in various settings including prison, secure hospitals and police custody suites.

In 2014 Stephen joined the team at Cygnet Sedgley Lodge/House as Head of Care. He then transitioned to Cygnet Heathers where he became hospital manager in January 2019 before being appointed Hospital Manager of Cygnet Hospital Oldbury in 2024. Stephen’s passion is to ensure all service users receive the highest levels of care in the safest environment, whilst promoting community reintegration.

Daisy Taylor-Lea – Clinical Manager

Daisy qualified as a psychiatric nurse in 2018. Since then, she has built a diverse and accomplished career across the NHS, working in acute and picu services, crisis teams, and primary care. Progressing through roles such as senior crisis nurse, deputy ward manager, and ward manager, Daisy then went on to become an advanced nurse practitioner/independent nurse prescriber, further enhancing her clinical skills within complex mental health environments.

In May 2024, Daisy joined Cygnet Oldbury ahead of its launch, taking on the role of Clinical Manager. She brought with her frontline and strategic experience, with a particular passion for delivering person-centred care, strengthening clinical governance, and fostering recovery-oriented practice.

Daisy remains committed to ensuring that service users receive the highest standards of care in safe, supportive environments—promoting autonomy, dignity, and recovery focused care.

Iyinoluwa Tikare – Lead Psychologist

Iyinoluwa is a Clinical Psychologist with experience supporting individuals presenting with a range of mental health, behavioural, and emotional difficulties. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Over the course of her career, Iyinoluwa has worked across a range of clinical and community settings, providing psychological assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions. Her experience includes working with complex mental health presentations, trauma- related presentations, personality disorders, substance related difficulties, eating disorders, and individuals with diverse psychological and emotional needs.

She has trained in evidence-based interventions she utilises to support individuals with these complex needs and peculiarities. She is passionate about providing compassionate, person-centred psychological care and creating a safe, non-judgemental space where individuals feel heard, understood and supported. Her work also includes mental health advocacy, reflective practice sessions, staff training and promoting culturally responsive and psychologically and trauma informed care.

She joined Cygnet in 2025 and currently works as the Lead Psychologist for Cygnet Hospital Oldbury.

Yaa Debra - Occupational Therapist, Emmeline Ward

Yaa has been an occupational therapist for two years and began at Cygnet Hospital Wolverhampton's male acute and PICU servicesat the start of her career. Yaa rotated to Cygnet HospitalOldbury where she began on the PICU before moving to the Acute ward integrating well with the team and supporting in providing sensory input to patients.

Yaa is a valued member of the Cygnet Hospital Oldbury team and, in addition to providing person centred care, also provides teaching and training for the staff group.
