Wellbeing Month at Cygnet Pindar House

The team at Cygnet Pindar House started Cygnet Wellbeing Month by clocking 20 miles between them on a bike or treadmill.

Physiotherapist Muhammad Mughal arranged the event which included herbal teas, motivational stickers and words of encouragement. Some healthy competitiveness between Activity Coordinator Tanya and Student Physio Matt got the team motivated and off to a great start.

During the second week, staff took some time to look after themselves by focusing on mindfulness and relaxation. The event, organised by the Occupational Therapy team, Activity Coordinators, and Psychology team, featured mindful water painting and relaxing music.

Everyone took part in a chat about wellbeing where they discussed topics like what gets them through a difficult day and how they recharge their energy. Staff shared their ideas on how they can be kinder to themselves before setting a small goal of one thing to try this week.

The team rounded off Cygnet Wellbeing Month with a charity bake off, raising £40 for Headway.

Both staff and service users got involved in the charity event to raise funds and take a well-deserved, delicious break.

Hospital Manager Lisa Locking said: “Baking is a wonderful way to relieve stress, boost your mood, and take a mindful break. Let’s bake the world a better place together!”
