Walkern Lodge Resident Enjoys Thriller Night Out

Following surgery earlier this year, Liz, who is supported at Walkern Lodge, celebrated her recovery with a special trip to see a Michael Jackson tribute concert in Stevenage.

The team at Walkern Lodge supported her through her recovery after having a stoma fitted, and helped her get back to doing the things she enjoys.

Once Liz was feeling well enough, staff encouraged her to choose something special. Liz decided she wanted to see a Michael Jackson tribute concert at the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage and chose a member of the Walkern Lodge team to accompany her.

Liz was involved in planning the whole day and knew exactly how she wanted to make the occasion special. Before the concert, she went shopping and chose a brand-new outfit, including a dress, handbag and shoes.

With her new outfit ready, Liz decided she would also like to enjoy an Indian meal before the show. She and her staff member travelled to a nearby town for dinner before heading back to Stevenage for the performance.

Once at the theatre, Liz made the most of the occasion, singing and dancing along to the music.

After undergoing surgery only months earlier, the evening was a lovely opportunity for Liz to enjoy something she had chosen and planned herself, with support from the Walkern Lodge team to make it happen.
