Residents from Old Leigh House attend New Life Wood project

Two residents from Old Leigh House have been attending creative sessions at the New Life Wood recycling project in Basildon.

The residents have been attending the sessions since last September and they were immediately made to feel part of the New Life team. The instructors are easy to talk to and they are patient and empathetic when taking into consideration the resident’s needs.

When they arrive and greet their instructors, the residents waste no time in donning their white overalls and boots and getting straight to work sanding, painting, and assembling plant boxes, bird feeders, and shelves. They have also been making seasonal decorations for Christmas and Easter.

The residents are thoroughly enjoying their time at the creative centre and the two-way communication between the instructors and residents is heart-warming to see.
