Old Leigh House’s Trip to Folkestone
Their journey started at the coastal park, where they were able to enjoy three zones of the park. The formal zone was comprised of pine avenues, gardens and flowers blooming all year. The fun zone had several different play areas, while the wild zone was a heaven for quiet recreation, where sensitive habitat management allows wildlife to thrive.
Next, they had a stroll down Mermaid Beach. In spite of its deceptive name, it is actually attributed to the protective barriers along the cliff rather than mythical sea creatures.
Then, staff and residents walked to Folkestone Harbour Arm to have lunch and to learn about the importance of harbour during World War One. The Harbour Arm offered unrivalled views of the fishing harbour and a wider coastline, including White Cliffs, and opportunities to take in the invigorating sea air. The trip was a big success and Old Leigh House are already looking forward to returning soon to Folkestone.
