Old Leigh House celebrates two years with New Life Wood
Old Leigh House are celebrating two years of working with New Life Wood, a charity that gives people second changes by recycling waste wood.
Two individuals supported at Old Leigh House have the opportunity to work alongside skilled craftsmen at New Life Wood, learning traditional woodworking techniques such as planing, sanding and joining. Together they’ve created shelves, plant boxes and other wooden items; projects that build both practical skills and confidence.
The people supported feel very relaxed and comfortable working together with their experienced mentors and are always excited to tell about their wood-work experiences.
This partnership has been invaluable, giving our individuals meaningful work experience, a sense of achievement, and the opportunity to contribute to a charity that makes a real difference to both people and the planet.
