New Life Hatches at Cygnet Hospital Bierley
Cygnet Hospital Bierley recently took part in an egg hatching programme to celebrate Spring and new beginnings. We successfully hatched Bob, Hewy, Dewy, Louie, David, Speckles, Betty, Lola, Glenys and Henrietta between the 24th and the 26th April.
All the Cygnet Hospital Bierley community were fully involved and engaged with this – it certainly brought us lots of smiles. Service users, staff and visitors are all invested in caring for and growing the chicks.
The maintenance team are currently building a hen house for when the chicks are ready to move outside and the plan is to sell future eggs in the local community and donate the profit to a charity of the service users’ choice, and if possible re-hatch some next year.
