Learning Disability Week at Cygnet Hospital Colchester
Cygnet Hospital Colchester celebrated Learning Disability Week by organising a walk to their local Co-op store.
During the visit, they met with the manager and staff team to raise awareness about learning disabilities and the support they need. The team provided visual cards to support service users, and the staff agreed to initiate a quiet hour for service users and to create a learning disability-friendly environment. They will also ask other Co-op outlets to adopt a Learning Disability-friendly environment.
Additionally, the hospital celebrated with its patients by creating a collaborative piece of artwork.
