International Day of Sign Language at Nightingale
Nightingale enjoyed making chocolate cakes with pink or blue icing, sprinkles, and magic stars! Residents learned and used Makaton signs for ‘cake’, ‘blue’, ‘pink’, ‘mixing’, ‘chocolate’ to help them ask for what they would like during the baking session.
The session was supported by the Speech and Language Therapist Emily, who was able to help the residents learn the sign in different ways. The residents really enjoyed the activity!
