Franklin Ward opens Quench Cube
The Quench Cube is a social space for patients and staff to enjoy, which includes a bespoke drinks machine installed which will allow patients to access hot drinks independently. The new space was ready just in time to also receive a spooky Halloween makeover.
Hayley Rogers, Ward Manager, said: “We received a lot of feedback from patients regards the current access to hot drinks, which relies on a staff member been available, at times this has caused frustration, upset and distress. We hope that the immediate access to a hot drink will support people to maintain their independence where appropriate and enhance the patients experience of the ward. We are planning on having themed drinks available, which will reflect seasonal changes and key events across the year, we will include cultural and religious celebrations as we strive to be as inclusive with these as we can.”
