Farm fun for Cygnet Hospital Kidsgrove
The staff and individuals from Burleigh Ward recently enjoyed a visit to Shakes on the Rocks at Wickenstone Farm to feed some lambs.
During the trip, they had the chance to bottle‑feed lambs and spend time with a range of animals on the farm. After exploring, the group stopped at the farm’s milkshake vending machine, where some chose a fresh milkshake made with pasteurised milk from the farm, while others enjoyed a tea or coffee.
An Activity Coordinator supporting the visit said:
“It was really nice to see the ladies get off the ward and having a good time outside with the animals. You could see every one of them smiling the whole time.”
Feedback from those who attended was also very positive:
- “I enjoyed feeding the lambs, but I really enjoyed seeing all the other animals.”
- “I really enjoyed it. being outside and it was a like having animal therapy.”
It was a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon, and the team are looking forward to planning more meaningful outings like this in the future.
