Falls Prevention Week at Sheffield Day Services
Day 1 – All individuals had a hydration heroes challenge sheet to track how hydrated they have been. Staff and individuals also completed the falls awareness week service user quiz.
Day 2 – On day two of there was a hazard hunt with everyone looking trying to find any hazards and helping them to document these if founded. There was also a competition with containers to see if people could guess how much water they hold. Tony, Kelly and Debbie were the winners here guessing 550mls in one, 200mls in the other and then 1650mls.
Day 3 – In the morning there was dancing and exercises to complete movement passports. In the afternoon staff made an obstacle course for service users to go round and also we did some bean bag throwing.
Day 4 – A game of healthy bingo was held where individuals could see what food they enjoy and like and if they four in a row they won. AS won this game and everyone had lots of fun seeing all the different foods. There was also a pass the ball game, where you listen to music while passing a ball around, when the music stops and you have the ball, you wait to be asked question and wait to see if you got it right.
Day 5- On our last day the team reflected on all the activities over the week handed the certificates out to all the individuals who have taken part during the week.
