Educational visit to Ponderosa Zoo for Cygnet Oaks

Staff and individuals supported at Cygnet Oaks visited Ponderosa Zoo, where they explored wildlife exhibits and learned about animals from around the world.

One of the highlights was exploring the nocturnal animals exhibit, where staff and service users observed a caiman crocodile resting near the water’s edge. The exhibit also featured several species of spiders, giving them an up-close look at these often misunderstood creatures and their remarkable adaptations for night-time hunting.

The individuals we support spent time watching the playful monkeys as they swung through their enclosure, displaying their impressive agility and social behaviours. The raccoon dog was another favourite, with its distinctive markings and curious nature capturing everyone’s attention as it explored its habitat.

Throughout the day, they encountered numerous other animals, each offering their own unique characteristics and behaviours to observe. The visit provided an engaging and educational experience, allowing everyone to appreciate the diversity of the animal kingdom while enjoying time together outdoors.
