Davey’s Amazing Flying Experience
For Davey, a Marion House resident, every week is action-packed. However, he recently had an extra special adventure to go on.
Davey has a passion for travel and enjoys travelling in a car, following navigation systems and street signs. He also likes planning outings and taking bus trips around Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire and has been on holiday to coastal areas.
Recently, he has expressed an interest in visiting airports. Although Davey’s dad was concerned about how he would manage on a busy plane in an unfamiliar place, the staff at Marion House, with support from his dad, arranged a 30-minute flying experience for Davey.
On October 3rd, Davey and his team leader, Nat Page, went to Derby Airfield to meet Davey’s dad and the plane instructor. Despite the unfamiliar environment, and the confined space on the plane, he thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The instructor flew the plane over Derby and pointed out to Davey some of his favourite places, including Alton Towers and the McDonald’s in Uttoxeter.
Davey and Nat received a certificate for their flight, and they are now considering the next adventure – skydiving!
