Cygnet Views celebrate Pride
Service users and staff at Cygnet Views in Matlock celebrated Pride Month this week by decorating the unit and the car park in rainbow colours and balloons, and wearing bright coloured clothing. There was a “guess the flag” activity where service users guessed the meanings of different LGBTQ+ flags and engaged in a discussion about what these mean, and then painted the different flags onto rocks for display in the ‘secret garden’.
At lunch time, there was a rainbow themed buffet followed by a rainbow cake which was kindly made by the catering team at Cygnet Manor and which was enjoyed by everyone. In the afternoon, there was an LGBTQ+ themed quiz, followed by a pamper session, including rainbow tattoos, glitter art and nail varnish. There was also a disco throughout the afternoon. Service users and staff alike had an amazing day and celebrated the inclusivity and diversity of the LGBTQ+ initiative!
