Cygnet Lodge Woking launch ‘Friday Flex’ initiative

The first event took place at the end of June and was a wonderful success. The idea is simple but powerful: create opportunities for everyone to connect as people, beyond the traditionally structured clinical setting, helping to build trust and stronger relationships.
The event brought together residents and staff from across the team, including senior managers, for an afternoon of activities and conversation in a relaxed atmosphere. It was a chance for everyone to unwind, have fun, and get to know each other better at the end of the week.
The Monthly Friday Flex is part of the service’s broader Culture of Care approach, which focuses on creating environments where both staff and the people we support feel valued and supported.
The initiative puts co-production at its heart, ensuring everyone has a voice in shaping how these sessions develop. Plans are already underway for future events, with the team excited to see how this simple idea continues to strengthen their ward community, making every stay on the ward not only safe and supportive but also a little more joyful and memorable.
