Cygnet Greater Manchester Regional Occupational Therapy Meeting

On Thursday 21st May occupational therapists from across the north-west came together for the Cygnet Greater Manchester Regional Occupational Therapy Meeting, a valuable opportunity to connect, collaborate and continue strengthening the voice of Occupational Therapy across mental health services.

These meetings are vital in ensuring we continue to fly the Occupational Therapy flag high, championing the unique contribution our profession brings to recovery focused care and highlighting why Occupational Therapists are such an integral part of every patient’s journey towards independence, meaning and wellbeing.

Donna Ironmonger Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist for Rehab services said “It was fantastic to see a variety of service lines represented, with teams sharing best practice, innovative interventions and service developments from across the region. We also worked collaboratively to coordinate student placements for the upcoming quarter, ensuring continued investment in the future of the profession and the development of the next generation of Occupational Therapists.

“Importantly, the meeting also gave us the opportunity to reflect on our own occupational balance reminding one another of the importance of “OT-ing ourselves”, prioritising wellbeing, meaningful occupation and professional resilience so that we can continue to deliver the highest standard of care to the individuals we support.

“A productive and inspiring day demonstrating the power of regional collaboration, professional leadership and shared commitment to high quality occupationally focused care.”
