Cygnet Bury Hudson’s Xmas Party

The service users and staff at Cygnet Bury Hudson recently enjoyed a wonderful Christmas party. The Occupational Therapy and the activity team were on hand to ensure the event provided a great opportunity for all to get warmed up for this year’s festive season. A Christmas Choir was also in attendance to get the party started and get everyone up dancing and singing along.

Operations Director, Victor, was keen to show off his vocal skills when he joined a service user to sing Mary’s Boy child on stage. This left Sibo, Registered Manager, with the job of getting the crowd up singing and dancing.

The event was also enjoyed by guests including Kirsty Hartley, a case manager for Greater Manchester NHS Foundation Trust, who said: “I would like to thank Cygnet Bury for the Christmas gift of allowing me to gatecrash the Christmas Party. Watching the attendees dance and sing along to the rock choir exchanging discussion about the songs, the singing, the quality of the mince pies (they were lovely I had one!). Everyone there clearly enjoyed themselves and some of the service users I routinely visit were pleased to share their thoughts and feelings about the event with me. It’s hard to engage everyone but it looked to me that you did! Well done to the OT team and activity co-ordinators for organising the event.”

Paul O’Keefe from Cygnet Bury Hudson’s Occupational Therapy team added “The atmosphere was quite moving to witness, to see service users and staff in front of the stage dancing and waving their hands in the air was amazing. Every face had a smile from ear to ear.”
