Cygnet Bury Forestwood Is Getting a Makeover!
Ruth Emmott, General Manager, said: “We’ve begun making changes to help the space feel less clinical and far more vibrant, fun, and uplifting for the young people who spend time here. Our brilliant Art Team, Charlotte and Ciara, who work within Forestwood Education team and externally as Paint Steady Crew have been working closely with young people to design colourful, mood boosting artwork that’s now making its way onto our walls. Together, they’ve explored ideas, themes, and styles that reflect creativity, positivity, and the individuality of the young people who call Forestwood home.
“The first murals are already up, bringing warmth and personality to areas that once felt plain and sterile. Feedback from the young people has been hugely positive—they’ve told us they love the brightness of the paintings, that they’re fun, and that the designs make them feel happier. Many said that before, the plain walls felt boring and a bit sad, so the transformation has been a real boost to the atmosphere.
“The young people are not only excited to see the artwork appear but are also taking pride in having helped shape the space themselves. And the best part? – We’re only just getting started. There’s plenty more planned for the coming weeks as we continue to brighten up Forestwood with new artwork, colour schemes, and creative touches that make the environment feel happier, more relaxed, and more “them.”
