Carers and Family Day at Cygnet Delfryn Lodge
Families and carers of service users were invited for a meet and greet afternoon where they enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea provided by the service’s amazing kitchen staff, including fresh cream cakes, tea, coffee and a pick’n’mix table. They then had a tour of the patient social hub and an empty bedroom to get a better idea of the environment their loved ones are in.
Two of our Carer Leads, Nicola Parry and Daniel Sutherland, helped organise the event. They ensured that all families and carers received a goody bag and were able to meet other families, carers and members of the MDT to discuss the care and support our services offer. Carers were then given the opportunity to speak to advocacy services, who helped answer any questions they may have.
Joe Morgan, Therapy Coordinator, said: “The feedback we received was really positive. Everyone said how valuable the day was and they found it a real comfort viewing the service from a different perspective. Our carers and families are already looking forward to our next event in September!”
