Bringing the 80s Back to Cygnet Bury Hudson
Despite the rainy weather, spirits remained high, with colourful 80s outfits, classic hits from DJ AJ, games, activities and plenty of laughter throughout the day.
Guests enjoyed a fantastic selection of food, choir performances, competitions and a visit from the ice cream van, while families and carers had the opportunity to spend quality time with their loved ones in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
One family member described the event as a “10/10”, praising the staff, activities and welcoming atmosphere, while another said they had “never seen anything like this the whole time” their son had been in hospital.
Hospital Manager Sibo Attley thanked everyone who helped make the day possible, “I would like to thank all our staff, patients, carers and volunteers whose support, patience and enthusiasm helped make our fourth Hudfest a great success.” She added that “Hudfest has become a valued summer tradition, bringing the Hudson community together to create positive experiences, strengthen connections and celebrate together”.
Chipo Dedza, Clinical service manager added, “A massive thank you to everyone for making Hudfest a success! I am incredibly proud of our nursing team and ACs for their tireless work preparing a world of diverse flavours, our patients especially raved about the African cuisine, as always. Seeing everyone dressed for the theme and coming together, even on their days off, reminds me why the Hudson team is so special. We’re already looking forward to an even bigger turnout next year!”
