African Culture Day at Gledholt Mews and Coach House
The staff team at Gledholt Mews and Coach House is diverse, therefore, they decided to honour those of African culture on Tuesday 24th September 2024 by hosting a African Culture Day party.
The management team, Head of Care, kitchen staff, activity coordinators, nurses and support workers put a lot of effort into planning a celebration that had African music, games, traditional attire and African cuisine, in an effort to highlight their African heritage. Jade, the activity coordinator, worked hard to create amazing games and decorations for the day.
A range of African dishes were prepared by the fabulous kitchen team, to which everyone in attendance gladly helped themselves to. The day would not have been complete without some enticing African rhythms and dance moves too.
Support worker, and SRG lead, Nafisat Oloko-oba thanked the staff members who gave their time to help make the African Culture Day celebration a success, as well as those who came in from their homes on their days off to join in the fun. They also thanked the incredible kitchen staff for creating delicious African food. They said: “Everyone who attended the event had a great time, and it is evident how happy they are to be African and to have the chance to share their culture!”
