Africa Day at Cygnet Hospital Godden Green
Last week the team at Cygnet Hospital Godden Green celebrated Africa Day in style. Service users created posters a week in advance in Recovery College to advertise the event and also created flower arrangements in their Floristry class to decorate the hospital in bright colours.
Staff cooked a variety of authentic dishes for everyone to enjoy including; chakalaka, jollof rice, pounded yam, wakje, curry goat, mung beans, puff-puff to name but a few. Staff and service users voted for their favourite dish with congratulations going to Sheila for her jollof rice.
The hospital was awash with colour with Rebecca claiming the prize for ‘best dressed’. Thank you to all involved in making the day such a special event with all the preparation, cooking, decorating, dancing, serving and sharing the African experience.
