A Summer of Fun at Cygnet Raglan House
Cygnet Raglan House have been up to some exciting events over the summer holidays.
Summer Party
In August, they held their summer party, where they started off by getting glitter tattoos and enjoying some pampering. Dr Peter set up a mocktail station and made delicious drinks in coconut cups for everyone to enjoy. The Occupational Therapy (OT) team prepared a fantastic buffet with something for everyone – the chocolate eclairs and hot dogs were especially popular. They also held an awards ceremony where each service user received a personalised award, which was a lot of fun to guess and see who each one belonged to.
South Asian Heritage Month
At the end of August, Raglan celebrated ‘South Asian Heritage Month’, where staff and service users worked together to organise activities. One of the popular activities was creating Rangoli patterns on the patio using chalk and stencils. Zainab and Nahema also applied henna, known as mendhi, on people’s hands. To conclude the week, the South Asian staff hosted a party where everyone dressed beautifully, enjoyed traditional food and drink, and danced to Bollywood music.
Sports Day
This year, the sports day was held in the garden, coinciding with the Olympics. Cheryl led the games, including egg and spoon races, obstacle courses, relay races, and ring toss. They had a great time, and thanks to Cheryl for making it so much fun!
