Since the beginning on March 2018 a team of service users from Cygnet Hospital Bury have been competing in the Social Inclusion Football League alongside other hospitals and mental health organisations. Team Cygnet have been participating in monthly fixtures organised by Creative Support and played at Blackburn Rovers Indoor Football Centre.
As part of Brain Injury Awareness Week two of our neuropsychiatric services, Cygnet Grange and Cygnet Lodge, held a ‘Headway Hatters Tea Party and Barbecue'.

Raf Hamaizia, Cygnet Health Care's Expert by Experience Lead, has recently been at the forefront of a campaign by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) for Mental Health Awareness Week. The campaign, 'Putting mental health at the top of the agenda', features a number of video testimonials by experts by experience, including Raf, talking about their experiences of detention under the Mental Health Act.

Sir Keith Pearson, the Chair of Health Education England, recently visited Cygnet Hospital Derby to find out more about the education opportunities that Cygnet offer to their staff, especially the HCA student Nurse sponsorship, Cygnet’s new preceptorship programme and the trainee nursing associate scheme.
