Reduction in DBT drop out rates at Cygnet Hospital Stevenage
Following the implementation of a series of new initiatives the therapy team at Cygnet Hospital Stevenage have successfully reduced the drop-out rate of service users engaged within their DBT programme from 50% to 33.3%.
First stage of improvement works at Cygnet Hospital Harrogate complete
We are pleased to report that on the 7th December work was completed on an upgrade to all sixteen bedrooms on Cygnet Hospital Harrogate’s Haven Ward. This marked the end of the first phase of a £350,000 upgrade to all 36 bedrooms in the hospital.
Three more Cygnet hospitals to become smoke free
In January our hospitals in Blackheath, Brighouse and Wyke will become the latest Cygnet services to provide care and treatment in a smoke free environment. This takes the total number of smoke free Cygnet hospitals up to four.
Cygnet Hospital Bury opens new general adolescent service
We are pleased to announce that Cygnet Hospital Bury's new Tier 4 general adolescent acute service will open on Monday 12 October 2015. The new service, which replaces one of the PICU wards, will complement the remaining CAMHS PICUs at Cygnet Hospital Bury, thus extending the short-stay care pathways on site.
Cygnet Lodge Brighouse to become an all-male service
We are pleased to announce that from the end of this year Cygnet Lodge Brighouse will become an all-male service. This move is in response to a clear need for male mental health rehabilitation beds, as seen by the number of referrals to the service over the past twelve months.
Cygnet Health Care announces the acquisition of Alpha Hospitals
We are delighted to announce that Cygnet Health Care has completed the acquisition of Alpha Hospitals. The acquisition brings 305 additional beds at the Alpha Hospitals in Bury, Sheffield, and Woking into the Cygnet family.
Moving towards smoke free services
Cygnet Hospital Beckton and Cygnet Hospital Blackheath are aiming to be the first Cygnet hospitals to provide care and treatment in a smoke free environment and plan to become smoke free in November this year.
Planning consent granted for extension to Cygnet Hospital Wyke
]We are delighted to announce that on 7th July 2015, detailed planning consent was granted for construction of a substantial new extension to Cygnet Hospital Wyke in West Yorkshire. The extension will contain bedrooms plus day, activity and ancillary space.

Work starts on new flatlet extension at Cygnet Hospital Derby
Building work has begun on a new three-bed flatlet extension to Cygnet Hospital Derby's Wyvern Unit. The work is progressing well and we envisage admitting the first service user on 3rd February 2015.
