How to Pay for Your Treatment
There are two main ways to access private treatment at Cygnet Health Care:
- Self-funding – paying for treatment directly
- Private Medical Insurance (PMI) – using your health insurance cover
Self-Funding your treatment
Self-funding your care means that you pay directly for your treatment.
If you would like to discuss self-funding your treatment, call us today on 0808 164 4420.
Our friendly team will:
- Explain the treatment options available
- Answer any questions you may have
- Arrange an appointment at a time that works for you
Accessing your Private Medical Insurance (PMI) for your treatment
Cygnet is currently approved with WPA and is in the process of registration with other providers. Pre-authorisation is required for assessment and inpatient admission. Please ask your provider if your policy covers inpatient treatment before requesting assessment authorisation from your insurer.
As an inpatient, you’ll stay in a safe, comfortable environment where our dedicated team will provide personalised care to help you achieve lasting recovery.
How to Access Treatment Through Your PMI
We aim to make the process as straightforward as possible. Here’s what to expect:
Step 1: Check your policy requirements
If you have PMI, either personally or through your employer, your insurer may require a GP referral before you begin treatment. Check with your insurer to confirm what your policy covers.
Even if a referral isn’t required right away, our team can begin discussing your options and guide you through the process.
Step 2: Contact your insurer
Speak with your insurer to confirm whether your policy includes assessment and inpatient mental health treatment at Cygnet.
If it does, they’ll provide you with an authorisation code, which you’ll need when arranging your admission.
Some policies may include an excess payment. Your insurer will be able to advise if this applies.
Step 3: Contact our admissions team
Once you have your authorisation code, please contact our team on 0808 164 4420 for us to arrange an assessment.
We’ll:
- Take your insurance details and authorisation code
- Liaise directly with your insurer
- Help you arrange your assessment and admission as quickly as possible
Our team aims to arrange an initial consultation within just a few days of your referral.
Our dedicated specialists are here to guide you through every step, ensuring a smooth, supportive experience from your first call to your first day of treatment and ultimately, your discharge.
