Recycled kitchen adds homely touch to Gardening Project
Roxy and Craig from our Gardening Project team in Leeds have shown great initiative in recycling an old kitchen and refitting it in the polytunnel so the people they support can enjoy a nice brew when working in the garden.
Roxy explains: “One of the apartments here at Kirkside was getting a new kitchen fitted so we decided to recycle their old one so it didn’t go to landfill. All of our gardeners are super happy to have a proper kitchen to use on their break time. We love to recycle where we can and obtain upgrades to the project.”
The Gardening Project is located at Kirkside House in Leeds and gives the individuals we support in our Yorkshire residential services an insight into working in the community. The gardening project aims to encourage and promote the importance of working as a team whilst bringing out the best in any individual to nurture growth, both personally, and in what they plant.
