Ducklings bring joy to Lowry House

Lowry House are delighted to introduce their new arrival! The team received a hatching kit and brooding cage for residents to watch ducklings hatch and develop. The Duck eggs have come from a family run farm in County Durham, which is one of four small farms with years of poultry keeping/breeding experience. They are an ethical provider who strive to have a positive social and environmental impact. They do this through education, animal welfare, safeguarding biodiversity, wildlife conservation and supporting charities and social enterprise. They are also increasing the number of grey partridges in the wild! Since the first hatchling this week, everyone has been up at the crack of dawn to check on him! Lowry House is full of excitement, with the little duckling already bringing lots of joy to residents and the team.
