Cygnet Newham House completes trauma informed care awareness training
Newham House have this week embarked on their journey to ensure that the service has ‘Trauma Informed’ approaches embedded throughout its service.
Utilising the ‘Trauma Informed Tool kit’ with its 4 phases, a baseline was measured via a QR code to a survey, which gathered internal data. Bespoke ‘Trauma Informed Care’ awareness training was delivered over 2 days with 4 sessions in total and over 50 staff attended. The Multi-disciplinary team – medics, nursing staff, housekeepers, administrators and chefs – all attended to ensure that the whole service had an awareness of Trauma and how it can affect service users.
