Cygnet Bury Forestwood hold career fair for young people
Charlie Dwyer and Lauren Hoarty from the Education team had been working hard over the past few months to pull together industry representatives from a range of jobs. Careers included banking, firefighting, engineering, forensic science and the King’s Trust. Although our students are from across the country, Bury College are always keen to attend to support the young people in understanding the opportunities available in further education wherever their Community colleges might be. Sarah Cookney, the commissioned independent careers adviser also had a stall to provide information about apprenticeships and give general guidance on educational pathways.
Cygnet’s own Occupational Therapy team attended to talk about the many career opportunities available in this field of supportive work.
Overall, Forestwood Careers Fair 2025 was a great success again. The young people from all of the four wards attended together and became quickly confident moving between the stalls and talking to a variety of people that they hadn’t met before. Students sat together in the rest areas and discussed what they had seen and the feedback was that they had thoroughly enjoyed the event.
