She works as a Consultant Psychiatrist on the psychiatric intensive care unit for women at Cygnet Hospital Stevenage, where she diagnoses and treats women with a wide range of mental health problems.
Dr McCurdy completed her medical training at the University of Oxford before completing core psychiatric training in North London, achieving Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2015. She subsequently pursued specialist training in psychiatry on the South London and Maudsley training scheme, achieving her CCT in forensic psychiatry in 2018. She additionally holds a postgraduate diploma in Mental Health Law from the University of Northumbria.
Dr McCurdy has a special interest in the assessment, diagnosis, and clinical management of adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) including the use of the DIVA diagnostic interview. She has been instrumental in various clinical research and quality improvement initiatives including projects evaluating ADHD diagnosis and management within prison settings.
Dr McCurdy is committed to providing individualised and patient-centred holistic care, using evidence-based interventions.
