Cygnet Hospital Colchester’s Summer Fete

Cygnet Hospital Colchester recently held their Summer Fete which was attended by service users, carers, staff and external professionals. Each ward ran their own stall at the event. The service users on Highwoods Ward made bracelets that were around the skittles and people had to throw the “hoopla” to win a bracelet. Oak and Larch Court had a “Beat the Goalie” with a service user as the goalie. Ramsey Unit had a Giant Jenga competition to try to beat the World Record for the number of levels achieved.

Other activities included a bean bag toss, coconut shy, guess the weight of the cake, guess the name of the teddy, guess how many sweets in the jar. The grand finale (and very popular) was Soak the Manager, where service users and staff got a chance to trigger the bucket to tip over the manager.

Food was courtesy of a fantastic BBQ lunch provided by the kitchen staff, and various cakes that people had baked and brought to share for the event. There was also freshly popped popcorn and an ice cream van.
